Jean Fournier, Marsannay Es Chezots 2021

$96.00 $120.00

  • Red Wine

  • France, Burgundy

  • Pinot Noir

  • The 2021 Marsannay Es Chezots has a lively, vibrant bouquet with pure Dorset plum and bilberry scents, light iris petal aromas. Very detailed. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-chiselled tannins, quite chalky in texture, perhaps a little compact but I feel this has something up its sleeve for later. Fournier’s spiciest Marsannay.

Couvent des Jacobins, Saint Emilion 2014

$93.00 $116.00

  • Red Wine

  • France, Bordeaux

  • Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot

  • The 2014 Couvent des Jacobins is a much more harmonious bouquet compared to the Clos des Jacobins (I wonder how many get the two confused!). Here there is attractive red cherry and crushed strawberry scents, the oak neatly integrated and retaining fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry: black cherries, cassis and a hint of licorice. There is certainly good density in the mouth and the finish feels solid yet not imposing, allowing attractive sous-bois and cedar notes to flourish on the aftertaste.

Marcoux, Châteauneuf du Pape 2020

$106.00 $132.00

  • Red Wine

  • France, Rhône

  • GSM/Rhone blend: Grenache + Syrah + Mourvèdre

  • Textbook notes of red and black berry fruits, violets, peppery garrigue and orange blossom with silky tannins and nicely integrated acidity.

Alto Moncayo, Alto Moncayo 2021

$89.00 $111.00

  • Red Wine

  • Spain, Campo de Borja

  • Grenache

  • Remarkably complex: black fruit (blackberry, black currant), balsamic notes, roasted or toasted nuances, hints of licorice, molasses, smoke, and subtle spice.

Sierra Cantabria, Gran Reserva 2016

$70.00 $87.00

  • Red Wine

  • Spain, Rioja

  • Primarily Tempranillo (with small amounts of Graciano

  • Dark ruby to the eye, this wine offers aromas of dark berries, milk chocolate and fennel. Cassis, blackberry, dark-chocolate, clove and lavender flavors are cloaked in a sheath of plush tannins that evaporate into an enduring, spice-scented finish. Drink through 2035.

Head, The Blonde Shiraz 2018

$76.00 $95.00

  • Red Wine

  • Australia, Barossa Valley

  • Shiraz

  • The 2018 "The Blonde" Shiraz is a vivid representation of Barossa Valley Shiraz, yet it carries its own unique signature. On pouring, the wine exhibits a deep, ruby-red color with a slight purple hue at the rim, indicative of its youth and vibrancy.
